Dylan Chong is a dentist and hobbyist photographer, currently based in Melaka, Malaysia. He started photography in 2020 and his current works are focused on environmental and landscape photography.
When shooting, Dylan tries to capture the interesting colours of a mundane and humdrum scene. Colour and light are his main inspiration. He looks up to Alex Webb and William Eggleston, photographers who are well known for their distinctive ability to capture interesting subjects with even more enthralling colours.
He also enjoys editing photos as much as capturing one, whether it’s a snapshot taken on his phone or a planned shot taken with film. Dylan feels blessed to live in this era, “a time where we can experience both the rawest and simplest form of photography on film and the convenience of editing and sharing provided by current technology,” he describes, with these tools, Dylan is able to translate his vision to his audience without comrpomising his own preferred shooting experience.
