Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Shaoo Mingg is currently a full-time psychology student.
He started his photography journey when he was 16 and has since been exposed to different kinds of photography – commercial, lifestyle, fashion, and wedding to name a few. Shaoo Mingg doesn’t categorise his work into a particular style – “I think labelling myself would be a limitation”. He believes that art is something fluid, that changes and evolves over time.
Shaoo Mingg’s favourite way to create is through analog cameras, he believes that the outcome and texture of photographs produced this way are more tangible. He sees photography as a habit and describes it as a therapeutic practice that allows him to immerse himself in creativity and disconnect from the world.
